Course Description: This course covers the fundamentals of financial accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles that will be applied in a business environment. Students will learn how to use Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks software to aggregate financial data efficiently. They will also learn procedures on how to account for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, creating invoices and tracking expenses. Additionally students will be able to prepare and analyze financial statements. Upon completion, students may be able to find positions such as Accounting Clerks, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Bookkeepers.
